TARABA GOV KEFAS’S SISTER DIES FROM GUNSHOT INJURIES CAUSED BY POLICE ESCORT
Atsi Kefas, the sister of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, has tragically passed away after being “accidentally shot” by a police escort during an attempted bandit attack, according to reports.
The incident occurred last Thursday on Kente Road in the Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State, where Atsi Kefas and the governor’s mother, Jumai Kefas, were traveling. Gunmen ambushed the vehicle, and in the chaos, a police officer assigned to protect the family inadvertently shot Atsi while trying to fend off the attackers.
Reports indicate that Atsi Kefas was rushed to a hospital in Abuja for urgent medical care, but she succumbed to her injuries.
A source close to the family confirmed her death, stating, “She passed away last night after battling her injuries. The governor and his family have yet to issue a formal statement, but our thoughts are with them during this incredibly difficult time.”
Another source confirming the death said, “Yes, the governor’s younger sister, who was shot during the bandit attack while traveling to Abuja, has sadly passed away.”
