I WON’T INAUGURATE ROADS IN WIKE’S LGA IF I WERE EVIL – FUBARA

Read Time:1 Minute, 4 Second

Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has stated that if he were a bad person, he would not have started road improvements in the state’s Obio Akpor Local Government Area.

Politics, according to Fubara, is all about service regardless of allegiances or attachments.

He gave a speech during the opening of Okocha Road in the Rumuolumeni neighborhood of Obio Akpor LGA.

The Federal Capital Territory’s minister, Nyesom Wike, is from Obio Akpor and served as the LGA’s chairman from 1999 to 2007.

Wike and Fubara have been at odds ever since he became governor.

The cold war between the two has continued in spite of President Bola Tinubu’s involvement.

The rift had led to an attempt to bomb the state House of Assembly complex while 27 lawmakers loyal to Wike defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Inaugurating the road project, Fubara said: “At this time, if I was an evil person, I would say, ‘I wouldn’t come here,’ considering the nature and the location of this place.

“But, because it is our duty in government to provide services, protect lives and property, we have to come to make sure that our people here are happy.”
