
NYSC URGES COLLECTIVE EFFORTS IN SEARCH FOR MISSING CORPS MEMBER – YAHAYA FAROUK
Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the National Youth Service Corps Director, has called for teamwork in the hunt for Yahaya Farouk, a missing Corps member.
When General Ahmed visited the people of Ikuru town, in the Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, where the missing Corps member is being hosted, he asked the local youths and elders to help the security forces find the Corpers.
He reiterated his pledge that his administration will always advocate for the proper security and well-being of Corps members, pointing out that it is also the duty of the people who live in the host communities to offer security and well-being packages to those who are serving there.
“The essence of my coming is to appeal to assist us in getting the Corps member who came for National Service from another state”, he said
The community’s Youth President, Mr. Etete Jerb Anthony, and Ward Secretary, Mr. Paul Friday, responded separately to the Director General’s request, stating that the community has made a great effort to locate Corps member Yahaya, who vanished while working at a Chinese mining company in the area.
Search and rescue operations are still going on,they assured.
