JUST IN: PRES. TINUBU SHIFTS 2025 BUDGET PRESENTATION TO WEDNESDAY
President Bola Tinubu will now submit the N47.9 trillion 2025 budget to the joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, December 18, instead of Tuesday, December 17.
Our Senate correspondent gathered authoritative information from the National Assembly’s top management staff.
Within the next few hours, a formal statement regarding the postponement should be released, according to the insider source.
President Tinubu will deliver the 2025 budget on Tuesday, according to a statement made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the Thursday session.
He said, “The president has made his intention known to the National Assembly to present the 2025 budget to the joint Assembly of the National Assembly on the 17th of December, 2024.”
According to Akpabio, the House of Representatives Chamber will host the budget presentation.
In order to give senators time to gather in the Red Chamber before making their way in procession to the House of Representatives chamber, where the budget will be delivered, he also told the members that the plenary would begin at 10:30 am.
The Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper for 2025–2027 was sent by Tinubu to the House of Representatives and the Senate last Tuesday.
