IPPMS: JIGAWA GOVT DISCOVERS 6,348 GHOST WORKERS
Jigawa State Government said it has uncovered 6,348 ghost workers in its Statewide Staff Audit Biometric Data Capture and Validation Exercise.
This was revealed by Hon. Sagir Musa, the State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, during a press conference on Monday that was presided over by Governor Umar Namadi.
According to the commissioner, the state managed to save N314,657,342.06 a month and N3,775,888,809.72 annually.
The Integrated Payroll and Personnel Management System (IPPMS) enrollment process for employees was guided by the Jigawa State Government.
It stated that the goal was to clean up the system and make it easier for workers to get their paychecks and other rights paid on time, not to witch hunt any employees.
In order to complete the Statewide Staff Audit Biometric Data Capture and Validation Exercise, Sagir stated that the state executive council has authorized the creation of a Continuous Capture Center (CCC) at the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
According to him, “Council has received the report of Staff Verification Exercise and approved the establishment of Continuous Capture Centre (CCC) at the Office of the Head of Civil Service for the completion of the Statewide Staff Audit Biometric Data Capture and Validation Exercise as part of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Management System (IPPMS) for the Jigawa State Government.
“The project resulted in detection of 6,348 ghost workers and a significant cost saving of average N314,657,342.06 per month and N3,775,888,809.72 per annum.”
