YULETIDE SEASON: POLICE INTENSIFIES PATROL, RAIDS BLACKSPOTS TO CURB CRIMINALITY
Police arrest 128 criminals armed with dangerous weapons and prevent car theft.
With the festive season fast approaching, the Nigeria Police Force is working diligently to maintain safety. Their heightened operations have led to numerous arrests, raids, and recoveries as part of their proactive approach to security.
Following instructions from Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM., to strengthen security during the festive season, the Nigeria Police Force has been conducting extensive patrols and raids in multiple states, resulting in the arrest of several criminals and the seizure of dangerous weapons.
On December 14, 2024, the Lagos State Police Command conducted several raids in Isolo, arresting 43 individuals and confiscating items like cannabis, swords, daggers, and other ritual materials. Furthermore, on December 15, 2024, Charles Orji was apprehended in Isheri Osun for attempting to steal a Toyota Hilux, with seven Toyota car keys found on him during a search.
The Nigeria Police Force remains dedicated to safeguarding the public by stepping up vigilance and executing coordinated security actions across various regions, including critical states like Kaduna, Zamfara, Taraba, Edo, Delta, Benue, and Niger.
With the festive season in full swing, the Nigeria Police Force assures the public that it will persist in its efforts to combat crime and protect Nigerians. Citizens are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the police.
