TIGHT SECURITY AT NASS AS TINUBU PREPARES TO PRESENT 2025 BUDGET
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has increased security at the National Assembly Complex in preparation for presenting the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly.
The budget presentation was moved to Wednesday, December 18, from its original date of Tuesday, December 17.
Additionally, it was learnt that the complex’s administration has instructed all company owners and ancillary service providers, such as banks and food vendors, not to open for business in light of the budget presentation.
Members of the National Assembly, visitors, and non-essential employees have also been instructed to remain at home until the budget presentation.
A small number of journalists and necessary duty officials with accreditation tags are the only employees permitted entry to the compound.
The joint session will likely be presided over by Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Since taking office on May 29, 2023, Tinubu has presented two budget estimates to the National Assembly, including this one.
