Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, the Secretary to the State Government, has received condolences from the Sokoto State Government for the loss of his daughter, three grandkids, and maid in a fire.

Around three in the morning on Monday, Rabi’atu Bello Sifawa, the daughter of the Secretary to the State Government, and her three children—Fatimatu Bello Yusuf, Maryam Bello Yusuf, and Abubakar Sadik Bello Yusuf—as well as a housekeeper named Aishatu Muhammad perished in the fire.

Our correspondent learned that the entire six-bedroom apartment was completely destroyed by the fire that broke out in the early hours of the morning when the family was asleep.

The state fire department’s men were unable to save anything from the house because it had already been completely destroyed.

The house was completely destroyed before the state fire department guys arrived, thus they were unable to recover anything.

Men from the state fire department fought the fire for hours before putting it out, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Sambo Bello Danchadi, the state commissioner for information and orientation, told our correspondent over the phone that the occurrence was a devastating loss for the state.

“The Sokoto State Government and the entire citizens of the state mourn the death of the children and their mother. It is indeed a tragic loss.

“We commiserate with the Secretary to the State Government and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youths and Sports, who is the breadwinner of the family.

“We pray unto Allah to forgive the deceased and grant them all Aljannah Fridaus” he added.

In the meantime, Sifawa town, Bodinga Local Government, has observed the burial prayer for the departed.

Idris Muhammad Gobir, the state deputy governor; Tukur Bala Bodinga, the speaker of the House of Assembly; Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, the minister of labor and employment; senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko’s representatives; and Justice Saidu Sifawa, the state chief judge, were among those present at the funeral.

Members of the legislature, commissioners, special advisers, the Grand Khadi, Shuaibu Sodangi Achida, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Sokoto, and Aminu Haliru Dikko were among the others.

The deceased housewife and her three children were to be buried at the Sokoto State SSG’s family residence, the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque Sifawa.
