TG/PS EDUCATION DISTRICT II, COMMENDS KAODWAD AND ASSOCIATES/IKORODU LGA

The Tutor General Permanent Secretary, Education District II, Mrs Anike Adekanye has extended her profound appreciation and Commendation to a private corporate organizations, KAODWAD and Associates, for its contributions and Collaboration with Ikorodu Local Government in upscaling education in the Ikorodu Division of Lagos State.

 

She further emphasized the need for other private individuals and corporate organizations to join hands with the government in a bid to move the education sector in the state to greater heights.

 

She made this call during the reception organized to honor the winners of the Ikorodu Division, Senior Secondary Schools Debate organised by the Ikorodu Local Government in collaboration with KAODWAD and Associates at the District Headquarters, Maryland.

 

She stated that the event was commendable as it showcased the high intellects of the students and the outstanding commitment of the Teachers, emphasizing that the Initiative will go along way in inspiring and motivating the Students to go extra miles in achieving success.

 

Speaking during the finals of the competition, the Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Mr Wasiu Adeshina, noted that this year’s competition, being the third edition, was aimed at discovering hidden talents among the students within the Council, with the focus on instilling confidence in public speaking among public secondary school students.

Elepe Community Senior High School, Elepe, represented by Miss Onah Grace and Master Oduwole Temiloluwa, emerged winner of the Year 2024 Inter – School Debate Competition. Miss Adekoya Farida Ogooluwa and Olutoki Oyinkansola Grace of Government College, Ikorodu clinched the second position and Ipakodo Senior Grammar School, Ipakodo, represented by Kelvin Emmanuella and Fadiyi Adedeji, came third.

The grand finale of the competition which took place at the LASUSTECH Cooperative Event Centre, Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu, had the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwoolu, who presented a cheques of N500,000 and a Laptop to the Winning school.

Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye and Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi presented an Cheque of N300,000 and N200,000 with a Laptop each to the second and third positions, respectively.

 

Mrs Anike Adekanye, congratulating the winners, ascerted that the students were testaments of the gains of the Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu’s Themes Plus agenda and the commitments of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mr Jamiu Tolani Ali-Balogun and the Great support of the Deputy Governor , Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hazmat in the education sector in Lagos State.

 

She also appreciated other stakeholders in Ikorodu Division for the laudable achievement.
