NIGERIAN MUSIC INDUSTRY ‘FILLED WITH DANGEROUS SHARKS’, – TIWA SAVAGE
Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has responded to concerns about a video showing her “swimming with sharks.”
The artist, 44, posted the underwater video to her Instagram account, showing herself swimming near the marine life while donning an oxygen mask.
She disclosed that the encounter was on her bucket list.
Fans on social media began to worry for her safety when the video went viral.
Addressing these concerns in a follow-up post, she reassured her fans saying “The real danger lies within the Nigerian music industry.”
“Everyone worried about me swimming with sharks, but the ones in this music industry are way more f**king dangerous.”
Savage’s statement has, however, sparked speculation, leaving many to question what inspired her remarks.
She didn’t go into detail, but what she said suggests that the Nigerian music industry is ruthless.
In January 2024, she made headlines when she claimed that fellow singer Davido had threatened her with assault and serious injury.
Savage submitted a police petition detailing allegations of harassment after sharing an Instagram story on December 23, 2023, featuring Davido’s ex-partner Sophia Momodu.
Savage asked the authorities in the petition to hold Davido accountable if anything were to happen to her or her family.
