UPDATE: MINING TRUCK KILLS 10 IN BENUE STATE

A deadly accident in Okete village, Okpikwu Oglewu, in the Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State, has claimed ten lives.

On Wednesday, a mining truck struck a bus carrying six people before colliding with a residential building, killing a family of four.

Following the count, ten people have already been officially declared dead, and others are being treated at St. Daniel Hospital in Otukpo, according to community leader Ekah Bernard.

Following the event, which also resulted in the destruction of numerous homes and commercial buildings, the neighbourhood along the Otukpo-Loko Oweto Abuja Road has been plunged into mourning.
