CRIME NEWS: 18 KIDNAPPED VICTIMS RESCUED IN PLATEAU

Three septuagenarians and fifteen others were rescued from the kidnappers’ enclave by troops from the Three Division Nigerian Army and Operation Safe Haven.

During an offensive operation between the boundaries of the Plateau and Taraba States, the victims were saved.

At the operations headquarters in Jos, Major Samson Zhakom, the Operation Safe Haven Information Officer, informed reporters that the rescued victims had been reunited with their families following verification and profiling by the appropriate agencies.

Additionally, some of the offenders were apprehended as a result of the operations, and firearms and ammunition were recovered, among other hazardous weapons.

According to the troop, following their verification and profile by the appropriate agencies, the liberated victims were reunited with their family.

Troops of Sector Five on Golden Peace Operations, meanwhile, reported that they had apprehended five bandits at a criminal hideout in the Tarangol in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau. Several items, including fake rifles, cartridges, daggers, and 7.62 mm (special) rounds, were found among the criminals.

Similarly, while trying to wreak havoc in the surrounding area, the troops stopped bandits at Jannaret in the Mangu local government district.

While investigations are being conducted, the arrested suspects must be turned over to the proper authorities for prosecution.
