FEAR AS BANDITS LAUNCH NEW ATTACK ON SOKOTO VILLAGE
Armed bandits launched a violent attack on Nasarawa Gabas, a community in the Dunkawa region of Sabon Birni Local Government Area, Sokoto State, looting food supplies and other valuable possessions from residents’ homes.
Eyewitnesses reported that late on Friday night, the attackers, armed with rifles, went from house to house, forcing residents to hand over bags of food and other goods.
Sources told Zagazola Makama, a counter-terrorism expert in the Lake Chad region, that the same group of bandits is believed to have spent the night in the nearby community of Idi.
As a result of this attack, residents are increasingly concerned about the possibility of further assaults in the area.
