OKADA BAN: LAGOS TASK FORCE IMPOUNDS 58 MOTORCYCLES FOR VIOLATING RESTRICTION ORDER

The Lagos State Task Force has impounded 58 motorcycles for violating the restriction order.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by Mrs. Bolanle Ogunlola, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation.
“The task force, during compliance monitoring on the ban on commercial motorcycles (okada) across several restricted routes and zones in the metropolis, confiscated 58 motorcycles for violating restriction order.
“The enforcement exercise covered major highways, including Gbagada-Oshodi, Oshodi-Apapa, Mile 2-Badagry Expressway, and Apple Junction.
“The locations covered were subsequently decongested from traffic bottlenecks caused by recalcitrant motorcyclists, to enhance safety and security of commuters and pedestrians,” she said.
She added that the enforcement of the order would remain a continuous exercise.
