POLICE RESCUE 207 ABDUCTED CHILDREN, FOIL BANDITS’ ATTACKS

Approximately 207 abducted children have been rescued by Nigeria Police Force operatives across the country.

They also successfully foiled several bandit attacks nationwide.

The police dismantled a syndicate involved in child abduction and trafficking in Akure, Ondo State, leading to the rescue of 14 children.

Force spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement, explained that following intelligence about a missing child, police arrested three suspects—Abosede Olanipekun, Lukman Isiaka, and Sabira Izuorah—and rescued 14 children aged between one week and seven years.

He further stated that the Nigeria Police Force has intensified efforts to combat human trafficking and the operation of illegal baby factories, resulting in the rescue of over 207 abducted children from suspected traffickers nationwide.

Adejobi also highlighted a significant breakthrough with the arrest of a syndicate involved in child abduction and trafficking, which was carried out by the Ondo State Police Command after receiving intelligence about a missing child in Okuta Elerin-Nla, Akure.

According to him, “Acting on intelligence regarding a missing child, the operatives arrested three suspects—Abosede Olanipekun, Lukman Isiaka, and Sabira Izuorah—and rescued 14 children aged between one week and seven years.”

The spokesman stated that on January 18, 2025, operatives from the Kogi State Command intercepted a group of armed bandits holding a key meeting in a forest in Budon, Kogi State.

The statement further mentioned that police in Katsina State, in cooperation with other security agencies, successfully prevented an impending attack on Ruwan Doruwa Village in Dutsinma Local Government Area.

He also reported that the operatives recovered one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 30 rounds of live ammunition, and two motorcycles.
