
EDO GOVT APPROVES RECRUITMENT OF 500 TEACHERS
The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has approved the hiring of 500 teachers by the State Basic Education Board to enhance the quality of learning.
This announcement was made on Wednesday in Benin by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Emmanuel Iyamu, following his assumption of office.
Iyamu, who was sworn in on Monday by Governor Okpebholo after being confirmed by the state’s House of Assembly, emphasized the administration’s strong commitment to the education sector.
He further explained that the recruitment process would occur in phases, with the primary goal of filling the many vacancies in public schools.
“Government is committed to ensuring that all public schools in Edo are adequately staffed by qualified teachers.
“The era of having two or three teachers in a school is gone and I am calling on qualified Nigerians
to apply.”
