MOT, TASK FORCE CARRY OUT ENFORCEMENT EXERCISE AT BERGER BRIDGE
In response to the persistent non-compliance of bus drivers at Berger Bridge, the Ministry of Transportation, in partnership with the Lagos State TASKFORCE, carried out an enforcement operation to remove commercial vehicles that were illegally parked along the bridge.
This action followed several warnings issued to bus drivers, urging them to stop using the road as an unauthorized parking area, which had caused significant traffic congestion and disrupted the flow of traffic on the bridge.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, stressed that the State Government will not tolerate the repeated disregard of warnings, and reaffirmed that the State Traffic Laws must be strictly followed by all road users throughout the city.
He added that any bus drivers arrested or vehicles impounded during the operation will face fines as stipulated by the 2018 State Traffic Law. The Commissioner expressed confidence that the ongoing enforcement would serve as a deterrent, with the State Government’s commitment to maintaining order on Lagos roads remaining unwavering.
