Members of the State Assembly escorted Speaker Obasa into her new position.
On her behalf and that of the other members of the House, a prayer session was conducted to ensure that the assembly was led smoothly and that the honourable members of the House worked together.
The house’s leadership, led by Rt. Hon. Speaker Mojisola Meranda, has postponed today’s plenary to a later time.
On Saturday, former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa spoke out, stating that he will continue to serve as Speaker until due procedure is completed.
Mr. Obasa was removed by the majority of House members on January 13, 2025, following allegations of misconduct and financial misappropriation.
