AIG FAYOADE TELLS LAGOS, OGUN CPs TO BEEF UP SECURITY

The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Zone 2, Adegoke Fayoade, has charged the Commissioners of Police in Lagos and Ogun states to beef up security in order to flush out criminals in the zone.

 

Fayoade gave the charge at a lecture organized for Commissioners of Police, strategic and tactical commanders within the zone at the zonal headquarters in Onikan, yesterday.

 

A statement by the spokesperson for the zonal command, CSP Ayuba Umma, said the AIG advised the state CPs to ensure visibility policing and identify crime hotbeds in order to take the fight to the criminals.

 

“During the lecture, the AIG charged principal officers to be more proactive, adopt community policing strategies and improve public relations to aid intelligence gathering which is key in crime fighting.

 

“The AIG stressed on the need for physical and covert policing to rid the zone of criminal elements while emphasizing on collaboration with sister agencies and partnership with members of the public.

 

“He also charged them to identify black-spots and beef up security in their respective areas of jurisdiction,” said Umma.
