Tinubu arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to attend the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, which began on January 27.
The President landed at 10:20 p.m. (8:20 p.m. Nigerian time) and was welcomed by Tanzania’s Foreign Minister, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Nigerian High Commission to Tanzania, Ambassador Salisu Suleiman.
Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, had on Monday also stated that the goal is to ensure energy security, affordability and sustainability.
“He’s not here just for the fun of it. Mr President will announce a dynamic, compact initiative coming from Nigeria that will help push this agenda forward,” Dare told journalists.
The two-day summit is said to be hosted by the Tanzanian government, the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank Group.
