VIDEO: MOMENT REMI TINUBU HALTED CONVOY TO GREET SCHOOLCHILDREN IN KWARA
On Wednesday, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu halted her convoy to greet hundreds of schoolchildren who had eagerly gathered outside their school to welcome her.
In a statement and photos shared on X.com, Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, highlighted that this impromptu moment took place during Tinubu’s visit to Kwara for a series of official engagements.
Kukoyi mentioned that Tinubu was moved by the children’s excitement and decided to step out of her vehicle, setting aside security protocols, to engage with them.
The statement partly read, “The highlight of the day would be the spontaneous stoppage of the First Lady and her entourage to join hundreds of schoolchildren who had rushed out of their school premises to sing and cheer. Her excellency saw the kids and literally said, leave security protocol for now.
“After the First Lady sighted the children, she alighted from her vehicle where she admonished the excited children to face their studies and shun all acts or behaviour that could jeopardize their future.”
The statement revealed that Tinubu is in the state to launch the distribution of professional kits to midwives under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
She also inaugurated two newly built flyovers in Ilorin: the General Babatunde Idiagbon Flyover in Tanke and the Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari Flyover.
Furthermore, the First Lady was reported to have laid the foundation stone for the Oluremi Tinubu Hospital, a new medical facility designed to enhance healthcare services in the area.
