JUST IN: AKANDE LIED, I DID NOT WITHDRAW BOLA IGE’S CASE – LADOJA

Read Time:1 Minute, 1 Second

In a Monday response to former Osun State Governor Chief Bisi Akande about the murder of former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Chief Bola Ige, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and a former governor of Oyo State, said, “Chief Akande lied against me.”

He made this revelation to reporters at his home on Ondo Street in the state capital of Ibadan.

It was reported that over the weekend, Chief Akande raised fresh concerns about the unresolved assassination of Chief Ige, suggesting that Ladoja may have crucial information regarding the murder.

Ladoja said, “Chief Bola Ige was assassinated on December 23, 2001. I became governor on May 29, 2003, which was 18 months before my tenure began.

“I didn’t withdraw the case. My government didn’t withdraw any case.

“The case was even prosecuted by the Supreme Court. Chief Akande lied against me, and he is old. This is not his first time. People say he lies. Even Baba Adebanjo said he lied in his book.

“We are all deeply saddened by Ige’s death. We are all concerned about his murder; I was very close to Chief Bola Ige when he was alive.”
