Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, widely known as Beyoncé, made history once again at the 2025 Grammy Awards, receiving 11 nominations and winning two awards, bringing her total to an astounding 34 Grammy wins.
In a groundbreaking moment, she became the first Black woman to ever win the Best Country Album award for Cowboy Carter.
The award was presented by Taylor Swift, creating a memorable moment for both Beyoncé and the country music genre.
Already the most-awarded Grammy artist of all time, a title she earned in 2023 with Renaissance, Beyoncé added to her record with two more wins at the 2025 ceremony, further extending her lead.
Taking the stage in disbelief, Beyoncé said, “Wow, I really was not expecting this. Wow, I wanna thank God — Oh my God! — that I’m able to still do what I love after so many years Oh my God!”
She added, “I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album. We worked so hard on it. I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about, and to stay persistent.
“Wow, I’d like to thank my beautiful family, all of the artists that were collaborators… thank you! This wouldn’t have been this album without you. I’d like to thank God again and my fans, and I still am in shock. So thank you so much for this honour.”

Beyoncé has previously shared her experience of not feeling “welcomed” when first exploring the genre, making this Grammy win even more significant.
At the 2025 Grammys, Beyoncé garnered 11 nominations, including for Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter.
Her track Texas Hold ‘Em received nominations for Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Country Song, while 16 Carriages and Ya Ya earned nominations for Best Country Solo Performance and Best Americana Performance, respectively.
