SENATE APPROVES NAJOMO AS NEW NCAA DIRECTOR-GENERAL
The Senate, on Thursday, approved the appointment of Capt. Chris Ona Najomo as the Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
His confirmation came after the Senate Committee on Aviation submitted its report, which was adopted during plenary.
Presenting the report, the committee’s chairman, Sen. Buhari Abdulfatai (APC-Oyo), stated that Najomo had undergone thorough screening and was found suitable for the role.
“This is due to his vast experience and outstanding contributions to the aviation industry,” he said.
He called on the Senate to adopt the committee’s recommendations and confirm Najomo as the Director-General of the NCAA.
Senator Mohammed Monguno (APC-Borno) also voiced his support, stating that while he was not a member of the aviation committee, the nominee’s credentials were commendable, and there were no adverse security reports from relevant agencies against him.
Monguno urged his colleagues to approve the committee’s recommendations.
Following deliberations, the Senate confirmed Najomo’s appointment as the Director-General of the NCAA.
