The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has revealed that a suspect, Kasimu Abubakar, 40, who was apprehended with 70 pieces of concealed Indian hemp, attempted to bribe its officers with N1m.
The command also noted that two of the suspect’s business associates are currently on the run.
While presenting the suspect on Monday at the State NSCDC headquarters in Gusau, the State capital, Commandant Sani Mustapha, represented by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASCII Umar Mohammed, confirmed that the suspect was arrested in Shinkafi town.
He added that the arrest followed a tip-off from Lagos State about a shipment being delivered to the town.
”On getting the information, our personnel swung into action and apprehended the suspect.
“We discovered 70 pieces of cannabis worth N1.7 million,” he said.
