POLICE NAB THREE INDIVIDUALS FOR VANDALIZING TRANSFORMER CABLES IN ADAMAWA
The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended three individuals for allegedly damaging and stealing transformer cables at Wuro Dole in the Girei Local Government Area.
The police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, shared this information in a statement released on Monday in Yola, the state capital.
According to Nguroje, the arrests were made after receiving reliable intelligence, which led to the capture of the three suspects accused of stealing transformer cables that provide power to parts of Girei.
The suspects—Rabiu Ali (28), Muhammad Musa (42), and Abubakar Usman (18)—are said to have worked with three others who are still on the run.
They are accused of vandalizing the transformer and removing armoured cables with the aim of making illegal profits.
Nguroje mentioned that the suspects will face charges in court once the investigation is concluded.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, praised the efforts of the Girei Divisional Police Officer and his team for their successful operation.
He instructed the Deputy Commissioner in charge of CID to take over the investigation and locate the remaining suspects.
The Commissioner also urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity near electrical transformers to ensure prompt action is taken.
