JAMB ISSUES WARNING AGAINST ILLEGAL REGISTRATION CENTRES, 1,021 CANDIDATES REGISTER IN JIGAWA
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cautioned candidates registering for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) to avoid unauthorized registration centres, warning that using such centres could lead to the invalidation of their registration.
JAMB’s Public Relations Officer in Jigawa State, Mukarram Adamu, issued this warning in a statement on Tuesday in Dutse, the state capital.
The statement revealed that 1,021 candidates have registered in Jigawa State for the 2025 UTME and DE, out of a total of 201,867 candidates nationwide.
Adamu explained that the registration is taking place at 12 approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres throughout the state.
The JAMB spokesperson stressed that these approved CBT centres are designed to ensure a smooth, transparent, and error-free registration process while preventing fraud and irregularities.
“JAMB has assured candidates that it will take every necessary measure to ensure the registration process is seamless,” Adamu stated.
He also mentioned that the current number of 201,867 candidates registered nationwide is expected to rise as the registration process progresses.
Adamu encouraged candidates to report any issues or suspicious activities they encounter during the registration and reassured that JAMB is dedicated to ensuring the process runs smoothly and efficiently.
“Candidates are strongly advised to use only approved centres for their registration. Patronizing illegal operators could lead to disqualification,” he warned.
JAMB also urged candidates to remain alert and report any misconduct or unapproved centres to the relevant authorities.
