MAN CONVICTED OF MURDER, SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HANGING IN RIVERS
Eze Kingsley was found guilty and given a death by hanging sentence by a Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt for the murder of the late Wagbara David.
On December 7, 2018, the offender committed the offense at No. 4 in the Rumumasi Community along the East-West in Port Harcourt.
According to a doctor at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, or UPTH, Kingsley, who was on trial for three charges of murder and infliction of severe bodily injury, stabbed David with a sharp weapon, causing his death.
Kingsley, a gasoline tanker conductor, and David, a mortuary owner, reportedly got into a heated dispute after David told the tanker driver to take the vehicle off his property because it was getting in the way of his business.
According to Justice Boma Diepiri’s ruling, Kingsley was found guilty and given the death penalty since the prosecution had proven all of the murder charge’s elements beyond a reasonable doubt.
Justice Diepiri prayed for Kingsley’s soul to rest in peace after ruling that he should be hanged by the neck till he died.
