19-YEAR-OLD BOY TAKES HIS OWN LIFE IN OGUN
In Afio village, Odeda Local Government Area, Ogun State, a 19-year-old kid named Sunday Moses was discovered dead.
In a remote rocky part of the community, Moses was found dead, dangling from a tree.
The 47-year-old brother was allegedly told by the secondary school graduate that he was going to choose a location with better network connection in order to make a phone call.
Police spokeswoman Omolola Odutola confirmed the event on Thursday, saying that after waiting for him for several hours, his brother John Egbe searched for him and discovered him dead.
According to Odutola, the police discovered that Moses’ mother had passed away only a few weeks prior and had not yet been buried at their birthplace of Oju LGA, Benue State.
She said, “The deceased left his home in Ogungbade Village early on February 10, 2025, to find better network service.
“When he failed to return, his elder brother, John Egbe, 47, grew concerned and traced him to the location where he made the devastating discovery.”
Detectives were sent to the location right away after getting the information, she said, and pictures were taken.
Investigations are still on, Odutola said, and the body has been given to the family to be buried in accordance with their customs.
