MAN STABS FRIEND TO DEATH OVER MISSING PHONE IN RIVERS
Rivers State Police Command has arrested a man simply identified as Michael for allegedly stabbing his friend, Uchenna, to death after accusing the latter of stealing his phone.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at Egede Street in the Mile 2 axis of Diobu in Port Harcourt, last Wednesday.
A source told our reporter that Uchenna visited Michael in his house located in the city centre, as both of them have been friends for years.
On this occasion, when Uchenna visited Michael, they were together but after some time the latter could not find his mobile phone and started a frantic search.
The source said, ‘So Michael accused Uchenna of stealing his handset, but Uhenna denied the accusation, and a heated argument ensued.”
As the brawl grew to a fever pitch, Michael picked up a jack knife and allegedly stabbed Uchenna in the stomach.
We gathered that Uchenna was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead, while Michael was later arrested by the police
The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed the incident to our reporter on Friday.
Iringe-Koko stated, “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The suspect has been arrested and the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for detailed investigation.”
