….. Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA presents free JAMB forms to students….
The Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada on Monday, distributed over 3000 food palliatives to the widows, elderly and residents of the LCDA.
The initiative which was held at the Adebayo Oshinowo hall is a monthly affair to ensure that the basic needs of the residents are satisfied.
As she started distributing food palliatives to the residents of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the mayoress of the community, conveyed her profound sense of appreciation and duty.
She underlined that this program is a demonstration of the administration’s dedication to the community’s welfare and not merely an initiative.
During the program, the Mayoress emphasized the importance of the initiative aimed at alleviating the burden of food insecurity faced by many communities nationwide.
In addition to the food palliative, the Mayoress presented free Jamb forms to students in Ikosi-Isheri.
The free JAMB forms were presented to deserving students in the local council area.
Princess Samiat Bada emphasized the importance of education in transforming lives and uplifting communities, while noting that the provision of free JAMB forms was not just an act of goodwill, but a commitment to the future of the students and a recognition of their hard work and determination.
“Education is the foundation upon which dreams are built,” she said. “Each one of you, sitting here today, carries the potential to change the world,” she said.
The Mayoress also offered words of encouragement and advice to the students, urging them to take their studies seriously and strive for excellence. “You need to read well and pass with flying colours,” she said. “Go into the exam hall, don’t fear, and you will excel.”
She also highlighted the council’s vision for educational development, which extends beyond JAMB. The council is dedicated to creating an environment where learning, innovation, and creativity flourish, and has implemented various initiatives to support this vision. These include continuous ICT training programs, skills acquisition training initiatives, and support for primary schools. “We recognize the importance of a strong foundation in education,” Princess Bada said. “Supporting our primary schools is crucial, for it is in those early years that the seeds of knowledge and character are planted.”
Princess Bada urged the students to embrace the opportunity with both hands, work hard, and stay focused. She reminded them that education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but about creating pathways, building bridges, and making a positive impact in the lives of others. “As you embark on this exciting journey, carry the thought in your hearts that you are the change makers, the visionaries, and the leaders of tomorrow,” she said.
While giving her speech she said, “We are on two assignments today. The first one is free jamb form for the students in Ikosi-Isheri and the second thing is the distribution of the monthly palliative to the community.”
“In Ikosi-Isheri, we feel the pains of our people because as a grassroot person, we must know what to do.”
She reiterated her commitment to prioritizing the welfare of residents and ensuring that no member of the community is left behind while reassuring residents of her government’s steadfast commitment to their well-being.
