MAGODO RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE MEMBERS

The Magodo Residents Association (MRA) has successfully conducted its 2025 elections, ushering in a new executive team to oversee community affairs.

The election, which took place on Saturday, was keenly contested, with residents actively participating in the democratic process.

Newly Elected Executives:

  • Chairman: Mr. Niyi Odunsi
  • Vice Chairman: Mrs. Sade Onajobi
  • General Secretary: Mr. Kehinde Daodu
  • Financial Secretary: Mrs. Ugochi Obi
  • Transport Secretary: Mrs. Funke Akinmade
  • Environmental Secretary: Mrs. Oyefunke Olayinka
  • Assistant Environmental Secretary: Mrs. Adetola Akintomide
  • Assistant Utility Secretary: Mrs. Betty Olabimpe

Additionally, several candidates were elected unopposed, filling key positions crucial to the smooth operation of the association.

Unopposed Roles:

  • Project Secretary: Mr. Wunmi Adebayo
  • Assistant Project Secretary: Mr. Adeyemi Aina
  • Utility Secretary: Mr. Gbenga Ogunbiyi
  • Assistant General Secretary: Mr. Chira Jerremiah
  • Assistant Financial Secretary: Mrs. Mariam Tolase
  • Publicity and Social Secretary: Mrs. Flourish Ibironke Oyeneye
  • Treasurer: Mr. Kazeem Bolanle Sanni
  • Assistant Secretary Secretary: Mr. Adedoyin Ogungbefun
  • Internal Auditor: Mr. Lawson Adesokan
  • Assistant Transport Secretary: Mr. Oluwaseun Ayorinde

Following the announcement of results, the newly elected Chairman, Mr. Niyi Odunsi, expressed gratitude to the residents for their confidence in the new leadership.

He pledged to work collaboratively with the entire executive team to enhance security, infrastructure, and overall community well-being.

Other elected members also assured residents of their commitment to addressing key concerns, including environmental sustainability, improved transportation management, and social development within the estate.

Residents have expressed optimism about the new leadership, hoping for effective governance and positive change in Magodo.

Meanwhile, a separate statement signed by Laide Osijonwo, Chairman, Electoral Committee, revealed that the position of Security Secretary was excluded from the election as a result of petition received on one of the contestants.

“The Electoral Committee received a Petition on one of the contestants for the position of Security Secretary, which is being looked into.

“Pending the satisfactory resolution of the issues raised in the Petition, the Electoral Committee deems it necessary to step down forthwith the position of Security Secretary from the election of today.

“This is to ensure that election is credible, free & fair.

“We appeal to the contestants for understanding & counsel equanimity among Residents”, the statement added.
