Read Time:1 Minute, 1 Second

The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) has achieved a significant milestone by successfully harvesting crops from its office farm, setting a commendable precedent for others. This initiative, inspired by Lagos State First Lady Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu during the 2024 National Women’s Conference, aims to promote self-sufficiency, eco-friendly practices, and team bonding.

During the harvest ceremony, the Board Secretary, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, expressed her delight and encouraged other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to embrace office farming. She emphasized that farming is for everyone, regardless of their profession or educational background. She also noted that the harvested produce would continue to be distributed among staff and neighboring offices, reinforcing the board’s commitment to staff welfare and community support.

The event was also attended by Mr. Saheed Onipede, Board Secretary of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSMPWB), whose presence underscored the value of interfaith collaboration and knowledge exchange in sustainable development.

Mr. Onipede said, “The success of this initiative has inspired the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board to start their farming project as well.” .

This initiative serves as an inspiring example of how faith-based organizations can drive positive change and enhance community well-being.
