ASISAT OSHOALA’S BROTHER ANNOUNCES INTENTION TO CONTEST FOR IKORODU LOCAL GOVT CHAIRMANSHIP
Mr. Azeez Oshoala, the brother of six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year and Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala, has announced his candidacy for the chairmanship of Ikorodu Local Government. He will be running under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming local government elections in Lagos State.
In a statement released on Saturday, Oshoala, a media entrepreneur, emphasized that young people are increasingly being entrusted with leadership roles worldwide due to their energy, resilience, creativity, and adaptability.
During his declaration speech at his campaign office in Ikorodu, Oshoala stated that he had consulted extensively with party leaders and other stakeholders to seek their support in his bid to become the next chairman of Ikorodu Local Government.
“This move is to help harness and unleash all the potential for greatness and transformation of our local government. This is an offer to serve my people, it is therefore not a do-or-die ambition and it is not a raw lust for power or monetary gain,” he said.
He pledged to introduce innovative, life-changing programs and developmental initiatives that would significantly benefit both the residents and indigenes of the local government area.
Oshoala holds two Master’s degrees from international institutions and is an active member of several professional organizations.
