POLICE ARREST 245 SUSPECTS IN FCT DURING FEBRUARY OPERATIONS

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command apprehended 245 suspects during a series of intelligence-led operations conducted from February 6 to February 23, 2025.

The operations focused on dismantling criminal hideouts, black spots, and abandoned buildings in various locations across the FCT, including Kurudu, Dutse Alhaji, Kubwa, Wuye, Galadimawa, Iddo, Kuje, Apo, Zuba, Asokoro, Karshi, Karu, and Byazhin, among others.

In a statement on Friday, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the suspects are currently undergoing thorough screening and profiling.

“In a robust effort to enhance security across the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Police Command has intensified its crackdown on criminal activities, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property.

 

“Between February 6 and February 23, 2025, the Command conducted a series of intelligence-led raid operations targeting criminal hideouts, black spots, and abandoned buildings throughout the territory.

 

“As a result, a total of 245 suspects were apprehended. These individuals are currently undergoing thorough profiling and screening. Those found culpable will be prosecuted by the law,” she stated.

 

During the raids, the police seized a significant amount of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana, along with three axes and three machetes commonly associated with violent crimes. Additionally, they recovered six small tubes of glue, five handmade bongs linked to drug use, eight pairs of scissors, five identification cards, multiple small transparent plastic containers, and various pills believed to be illicit substances.
