BANDITS MURDER 12 VIGILANTES, KIDNAP FOUR IN ZAMFARA
Twelve vigilantes were killed and four residents were kidnapped during an armed bandit attack on Tuesday in the Sabuwar Tunga community in Adabka ward, Bukkuyum Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst, wrote on X on Wednesday night that the attack started when the gunmen entered the area but were first repulsed by local vigilantes.
However, the criminals regrouped and ambushed the security volunteers as they followed them into the forest.
A security source in the area confirmed the attack, stating, “The community initially repelled them, but unfortunately, the bandits regrouped and ambushed our men, leading to the tragic loss of 12 members.”
After severely wounding the vigilantes, the attackers withdrew further into the forest with their victims.
Regarding the incident, security forces have not yet released an official statement.
