
HOODLUMS ATTACK COMMUNITY IN OGUN, MURDER ONE PERSON
The brutal attack on Osuke Village, Ota, where unidentified gunmen killed Saheed Jinadu Shoboyede, 24, has been denounced by the Ogun State Police Command.
In a statement released on Thursday, CSP Omolola Odutola, the command spokeswoman, revealed this and called the attack “senseless and brutal.”
She gave her word that an inquiry had been started to find the culprits and prosecute them.
Police say that Osuke Ota, an Olusoji Jinadu from Iju Mosque Compound, reported the attack.
At around 8 a.m. on February 27, he informed the police, a group of armed thugs led by a man named Elijah broke into the community’s Muslim Prayer Ground, opened fire randomly, and sent the locals into a panic.
Odutola said, “Tragically, the complainant’s son, Saheed Jinadu Shoboyede, was hit by a bullet.
“He was rushed to the State General Hospital, Ota, where a doctor on duty confirmed him dead. His remains have been preserved for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.”
She stated that two spent AK-47 rounds and three spent cartridges were found by police officers who examined the crime scene.
Odutola reaffirmed the command’s commitment to guaranteeing everyone’s safety and security while advising the public to maintain composure and assist law enforcement by offering helpful information that might result in the arrest of the offenders.
“Anyone with relevant information should contact the nearest police station or call the command’s emergency lines,” she added.
