A couple named Emmanuel and Mmesoma Okafor have been taken into custody by Lagos State Police Command agents on suspicion of abducting an internet vendor who had gone to deliver a product in the state’s Iyana Ishashi neighborhood.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, revealed this at a press conference on Monday.

He said the victim reported the event on Sunday, March 9, claiming she was kidnapped while trying to deliver something.

He claimed that the victim was seized by the duo, who then allegedly stripped her naked, attacked her, and took pictures of her in her undies.

Hundeyin went on to say that the couple threatened to release the photos if she didn’t pay the N2 million ransom.

He said, “The victim received a request for a product and proceeded to the customer’s house in Iyana Ishashi. Upon arrival, the door was opened, and she was forcibly dragged inside by a man and a woman.

“The suspects were later identified as Emmanuel and Mmesoma Okafor. After dragging her into the house, they stripped her naked, beat her up, took her nude picture and asked her to pay N2 million naira or they leak the picture.”

The victim was able to pay N300,000 immediately before being granted her freedom again, the police spokesperson added, and the couple threatened to distribute the photos if she didn’t pay the remaining amount.
