POLICE DISCOVER CHILDREN ABANDONED IN MARARABA
Two young girls were discovered abandoned close to Mararaba Junction in the Karu Local Government Area, and the Nasarawa State Police Command is asking for help from the public to identify and reunite them.
On March 12, 2025, at around 1700 hours, a citizen of Ungwan Gwandara found the children, according to a statement released by SP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer.
After receiving the report, police officers moved quickly to retrieve the kids safely and transport them to the Mararaba “B” Division.
During an interview, the girls, Fatima Isah, 10, and Halima Isah, 8, told police that they were carried from Kasuwan Bera, Jalingo, Taraba State, by an unidentified driver and left forcibly in Mararaba.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has urged members of the public with any information regarding the children, their families, or the circumstances surrounding their transportation to come forward,” Nansel stated in the statement.
He urged anyone who knew something helpful to get in touch with the following:
Divisional Police Officer 08037005201 Mararaba “B” Division
Crime Division Officer: 07034260434
08037461715 is the Police Public Relations Officer number.
Nansel promised the public that every piece of information they submitted would be handled in the strictest confidence.
He also mentioned the continued efforts to find the children’s family and look into their transportation and abandonment.
The Nasarawa State Police Command underlined that it is dedicated to protecting and safeguarding all citizens, particularly children who are at risk.
