
INEC RELEASES UPDATED VOTERS REGISTER, LIST OF POLITICAL PARTIES AHEAD OF RIVERS LG POLLS
Ahead of the next Local Government Council elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has made public the most recent Rivers State voter registration list as well as the list of Nigerian political parties that have registered.
The release was officially communicated to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) by INEC in a letter dated March 13, 2025, signed by Administrative Secretary Odour Napoleon Emezuiruke.
The letter, which was sent to the chairman of the RSIEC, confirmed that the commission had received a floppy copy of the voter registration.
In light of this event, RSIEC announced in a press statement that INEC Headquarters has sent the amended register.
Tamunotonye Tobins, the Commissioner in charge of Media & Civic Education, signed the statement, which assured the public and stakeholders of RSIEC’s dedication to holding free, fair, and credible elections. On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the elections are planned to occur.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Action Peoples Party (APP), Labour Party (LP), and fifteen more parties are on the list of registered political parties that INEC has made public.
As they step up preparations for the August elections, RSIEC reaffirms its dedication to guaranteeing a seamless electoral process in Rivers State with the updated voter registration now in effect.
