According to a statement released by the Command through its spokesperson, Moses Yamu, the priest was freed in the Amughe Community at approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, after extensive search and rescue efforts by police officers and vigilantes.

The command reported that its agents are still conducting a bush-combing operation to find the remains of Peter Andrew, a seminarian who was abducted with the priest but unfortunately lost his life during the ordeal.

The command claims that the drill also aims to apprehend the remaining kidnap gang members.

It recalled that one suspect was neutralised and four arrested on the day of the kidnap.
