
LAGOS FIRST LADY CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL PILGRIMAGE: CALLS FOR COMMITMENT TO RIGHTEOUSNESS (PHOTOS)
Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the Wife of the Governor of Lagos State, has celebrated the successful completion of the 2024 pilgrimage to the Holy Lands of Israel and Jordan.
Accompanied by members of the Committee of the Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), she expressed gratitude to God for the journey’s success, emphasizing the importance of collective prayers and a commitment to righteousness.
During the thanksgiving service, Mrs. Sanwo-Olu described the pilgrimage as a divine encounter—a journey of faith, renewal, and transformation. She commended key officials, including the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rt. Rev. Stephen Adegbite, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Religious Matters, Very Rev. Bukola Adeleke, and the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mrs. Yetunde Gbafe, for their dedication in ensuring a smooth and successful pilgrimage exercise.
She said, “Your efforts in ensuring the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of the pilgrims have not gone unnoticed, and we pray for greater grace to continue this noble mission.”
The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, encouraged pilgrims to embody a Christ-centered life, emphasizing that the lessons learned during the pilgrimage should manifest in their daily actions. She also urged others to consider embarking on such journeys, describing them as experiences that strengthen faith, renew the spirit, and draw individuals closer to God.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Matters, Very Rev. Bukola Adeleke, commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support in ensuring the successful completion of the pilgrimage exercise. He urged the pilgrims to serve as exemplary ambassadors of Lagos State and Nigeria, and to continue praying for the well-being of both the state and the nation.
Additionally, the Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, expressed her gratitude to God for the hitch-free pilgrimage exercise. She encouraged Christians to undertake such pilgrimages, highlighting them as life-changing experiences.
