
BLAZE DESTROYS PROPERTIES WORTH BILLIONS IN KANO
A fire at a scrap market in Dakata, Kano State, has destroyed property worth billions of naira.
Kano State Police Command spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident, noting that no casualties were recorded.
Reports suggest the fire began after sparks from electric poles ignited, spreading to a groundnut processing factory.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, who visited the site, called the incident tragic.
He also announced the arrest of a man caught attempting to steal goods from the scene.
Bakori assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted to prevent future incidents and commended the fire service and local residents for their swift response.
