Ogun State Police have arrested three suspected cultists in Ilaro, Yewa South LGA.

The suspects, Adebowale Idowu (23), Oke Ela (25), and Abiodun Segun (27), were caught during a routine stop-and-search while driving an unregistered black Lexus RX330 along the Ilaro/Oja-Odan road.

The state has experienced frequent cult-related violence, including a clash between the Eiye and Aye confraternities on Saturday in Alogi, Somorin, and Obantoko, which resulted in at least four deaths.

She said, “According to reports, on March 14, 2025, at approximately 12:40 p.m., a surveillance patrol team intercepted an unregistered black Lexus RX330 along the Ilaro/Oja-Odan Road.

“The vehicle was occupied by 23-year-old Adebowale Idowu, along with his associates, 25-year-old Abimbola Kabiru and 27-year-old Abiodun Segun.”

Odutola stated that a battle axe and a knife hidden under the driver’s seat were discovered during the search.

She further revealed that the suspects were promptly arrested and that investigations are still underway.
