
CRIME WATCH: OJODU COMMUNITY TEAM UP WITH LNSC OFFICERS TO APPREHEND TWO CABLE VANDALS
Vigilant residents of Lawanson Community in Ojodu aided officers of the Ojodu Command of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) in apprehending two suspected cable vandals.
The two suspects, who were identified as officials of the Debt Management Control Unit under Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company were caught by residents of Lawson Community at around early noon on 24th March 2025 while the third suspect Ibrahim was reported to have escaped with tools and other suspected stolen items.
The suspects were caught in the act while cutting Electric cables inside the transformer attached to Lawson Street, Oke-Ira, Ogba of Ojodu LCDA.
The suspects, Oluwadamilola Wasiu 30 yrs (M) and Adekunle Faruk 24 yrs (M), during interrogation claimed to be contract staff working with Arise Business link of 62, Ayo Alabi Street, Oke-Ira, an outsourced company of Ikeja Electric Distribution company.
The suspects have since been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters for further investigation and possibly prosecution.
In a brief statement, the General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Prince (Dr.) Ifalade Oyekan, FISN, commended members of the Lawanson community for their vigilance, while he also praised them for not taking laws into their own hands.
Oyekan promised that the Agency will continue to explore cooperation with the communities in its bid to attain the benchmark of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s Agenda for a safer and more secure Lagos State.
