OTTI LIFTS PROMOTION EMBARGO AT ABIA POLYTECHNIC
Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has reversed the 10-year ban that the previous state government had placed on the advancement of employees at Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic (previously Abia Polytechnic) Aba.
This was revealed in a statement released in Umuahia on Tuesday by Ukoha Njoku, the governor’s chief press secretary.
According to Njoku, the governor also gave his approval for the institution’s employees to receive their cumulative promotions.
The governor also ended the polytechnic’s “National Promotions” practice, he claimed.
He went on to say that the governor’s pledge to pay the 33 months’ worth of salaries that the previous administration owed them was appreciated by the polytechnic personnel.
“They also thanked him for implementing regular payment of their salaries as and when due and putting infrastructures and measures in place to upgrade the standard of the institution,” Ukoha said.
