
ARMY TROOPS CAPTURE KILLERS OF REVEREND FATHER IN KADUNA
The Nigerian Army has announced that its troops from Sector 7 of Operation Safe Haven have arrested those responsible for the murder of Reverend Father Sylvester Okechukwu, who was killed after being abducted in Tachira village, Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, the Media Information Officer for Operation Safe Haven, stated in a press release that the suspects were captured on March 25, 2025, after a raid on the main suspect’s hideout in Ruga settlement, Warsa-Piti village, Lere LGA, Kaduna State.
Reports indicate that during initial questioning, the main suspect, Pate Yau, 33, admitted he had been hired by Douglas Henry, a resident of the same house as the deceased priest, to carry out the kidnapping.
In a subsequent operation, troops apprehended Douglas Henry at Agwan Sariki Tachira in Kaura LGA. The suspects are now in custody and undergoing further investigation.
