RIVERS ADMINISTRATOR, IBAS, OFFICIALLY SWOARS IN NEW SSG INTO OFFICE
The new Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Prof. Ibibia Lucky-Worika, was sworn in by Rivers State Administrator Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd).
This occurred as he assigned the new SSG the duty of using his extensive experience to improve state governance.
An important step in the administrator’s attempts to consolidate administration and rebuild public confidence in Rivers State was reportedly the swearing-in event.
In his speech, Ibas emphasized that Prof. Worika’s appointment was more than just an administrative choice; it was a strategic step to strengthen the government’s dedication to law, order, and effective governance.
“To our new SSG, the task ahead is onerous, but your track record leaves no doubt in our minds that you will prove your mettle. Rivers State needs your intellect, grit, and unwavering dedication. Together, we will write a new chapter of progress for this great state,” he said.
The administrator, highlighting Prof. Worika’s expertise in law, policy, and international governance, expressed confidence that the new SSG would be instrumental in ensuring that policies and decisions align with the administration’s goal of stabilizing the polity and laying the groundwork for democratic governance.
He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and service, urging the newly appointed SSG to collaborate closely with civil servants to guarantee effective governance.
“You have no time to settle down. You must roll up your sleeves and get to work with the team. Our civil servants are critical stakeholders, and we must work with them to ensure that the state continues to function effectively during this administration.”
“To the Permanent Secretaries and civil servants as a whole, once more, I ask for your kind cooperation and support as we work to achieve our objectives at this time,” he added.
