ISLAMIC CLERIC WARNS YOBE MUSLIMS AGAINST REPRISALS AFTER EDO MASSACRE

The Chief Imam of the Goni Muktar Islamic Centre, Prof. Musa Tukur, has called on the authorities to look into the Edo massacre and warned the Muslim ummah against taking laws into their hands.

 

The don gave this warning during his sermon after the two rakaat prayers, which emphasised the significance of the Eld el-fitir and life after Ramadan.

 

Tukur also urged the Muslim Ummah to continue to show love and happiness to their people.

 

Reports have it that the Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni was among hundreds of Muslim faithful who observed the two rakaat Eld el-fitir prayers at the Yobe Islamic Centre following the end of Ramadan fasting for the Islamic calendar year 1446 AH.

 

The eld prayer, which was led by Sheikh Hudu Mohammed, was attended by both the executive council members and legislature with the Speaker Chiroma Buba Mashio leading the Yobe House of Assembly members.

 

In his sermon, Hudu Mohammed urged the Muslim Ummah to continue with the teachings and lessons learned in the month of Ramadan, especially in their worldly affairs.

 

“I urge you to observe the lessons learned in sacrifice during the month of Ramadan, show love and happiness to follow Muslim, and the non-Muslim alike,” Sheikh Hudu admonished the gathering.

 

Further reports noted that the two rakaat prayers for the Eld were peacefully conducted at the various eld grounds.

 

The Goni Muktar Eld prayer led by Prof. Musa Tukur took place at the Goni Muktar Eld Ground along the Gujb road Damaturu.

 

“Be your brother’s keeper and maintain the lessons of the month of Ramadan,” he stressed.

 

Prof. Ali Manzo and Dr. Sani Mohammed Nguru delivered the pre sermon lecture at the Eld prayer ground, stressing on the significance of the day, Eld el-fitir.

 

Dr. Mohammed advised the Muslim ummah to adhere to the lessons of the Ramadan by continuing to be their brother’s keeper.
