MANY RENDERED HOMELESS AS RAINSTORM WREAKS HAVOC IN KWARA

A rainstorm disaster has left many residents of Ogele, Asa Local Government Area in Kwara State homeless.

The incident, which took place on Eid-el-Fitr night, caused significant damage to public infrastructure and residential buildings.

Among the affected properties were Ansarul Islam Primary School, Community Secondary School, a health center, and mosques.

Additionally, concrete poles and high-tension power lines supplying electricity to Ogele, Afon, and nearby communities were also destroyed.

Some victims of the rainstorm said they were still counting their losses.

They appealed to the government at all levels, public-spirited individuals and organisations for help.

The Aare Ogele, Alh Abubakar Akanbi, whose residence was also affected by the rainstorm called for the government’s aid for the victims including the Mufti of the community.

The chairman of Ogele Descendants Progressive Union (ODPU), Alh Issa Akanbi-Oniyo said the unfortunate incident has left many residents homeless.
